Chief Financial Officer

What You’ll Do

While we invite applicants to help expand our thinking about the role based on what they can bring to us, the three core components of a Chief Financial Officer at BioVid currently involves:
  1. Financial governance and strategic business partnership
    • Provides executive leadership in evaluation of short- and long-term financial goals and recommends tactics to meet the goals
    • Offers recommendations on enhancing financial performance and business opportunities
    • Partners with the President to provide analysis of various metrics, budgets, financial trends, and forecasts
    • Establishes and maintains strong relationships within various employee groups to identify needs and create potential revenue generating and/or cost-efficient solutions
    • Manages the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting including monthly closing of financial books, preparation of revenue accruals, and standard journal entries
    • Assists in developing KPI and performance measures and monitoring systems that support BioVid’s strategic direction
    • Maintains weekly dashboards reconciling end-to-end revenue process, develops financial and tax strategies
    • Partners with HR to manage PC ratios, hiring budgets and compensation
  2. Client contract negotiations
    • Negotiates client contracts and track their expiry and renewal
    • Leads all aspects of client financial management, including scope and fee discussions and financial reviews/audits
  3. Finance & IT department oversight
    • Provides direction and oversight to Finance and IT department

Who You Are

Who you are matters to us as much as what you do. A BioVidian with a role of a Chief Financial Officer has the following skillsets and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years work experience in an accounting or finance position in a professional services business
  • Strategic, collaborative business partner with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of general accounting, internal controls, financial reporting standards, and treasury operations
  • Ability to manage large datasets, and integrate information from multiple data sources
  • Knowledge of business and contract law; experience in negotiating and managing contracts
  • Understanding of IT principles and the ability to oversee technology experts
  • Experience with project accounting, including project cost reporting and project invoicing
  • Experience with large-scale accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics SL experience a plus.)
